Artist:

Theodor von der Beek (1838-1921) was a German portrait and genre painter of the Düsseldorf School. Many of his works are in museum collections (including the Landesmuseum Mainz and the Westfälisches Landesmuseum Münster). The painting offered here was probably created in his later period around 1910, but this cannot be precisely substantiated.
